United States far right wing groups have direct links with the coup d’état in Honduras

Comunicas.- The Honduras Black Fraternal Organization (Ofraneh, Spanish acronym) denounced this Thursday that United States far right wing groups have direct links with the coup d'état carried out in that Central American country. rnrnA statement issued by the organization reads that “there is no doubt that there is a direct intervention by organizations attached to the North American far-right wing, such as the Arcadia Foundation, in which Otto Reich is involved, who is the ex Assistant Secretary of State for Western Hemisphere Affairs during the Administration of George W. Bush.”rnrnAccording to Ofraneh, Reich is “a harmful figure in charge of misinforming and sabotaging, close to (Luis) Posada Carriles and to the Cuban terrorists in charge of the dirty work at the Central Intelligence Agency of United States (CIA).” rnrnAllegedly to fight against corruption, the Arcadia Foundation started in 2006 “a low intensity war” against the staff of Zelaya's Administration.rnrnAccording to Ofraneh, “the great amount of money” received by the Honduran Movement Peace and Democracy, through the United States Agency for International Development (USAID) and the National Endowment for Democracy (NED), represents another evidence of United States link with the coup.rnrnBoth North American institutions are well known as “financiers of coups and destabilization processes around the world,” the statements reads.rnrnThe effect of the work carried out by the NED and the USAID in Honduras, according to the document, can be felt “from churches to employer associations, passing through the timid middle class.”rnrnThe Ofraneh stressed that it is urgent that Barack Obama's Administration “puts a halt on the labor of the intelligence organs devoted to misinform and destabilize.” They “want to create a clash between coupmongers and democracy defenders.”rnrnThe Ofraneh urged Obama to stop “the aggressions of the intelligence bodies” and to decree immediate economic sanctions to “stop the aggressions of this putschist and neofascist Government.”rnrnThe organization weighed up that would be the only way to induce peace and security in Honduras and Continent's stability. rnrnrnrnrnABNrnrnPhoto: Day Life - Senator Jim Demintrn
