Civil society of Panama vs. “aviation law”

Economy & Politics, International View Comments

Comunicas.- Organizations of Panamanian civil society are questioning parliament”s “consultation process” on the anti-labor package known as the “aviation law,” saying that repeal of the law has been excluded.

For the third consecutive day, the National Assembly on Thursday was receiving presentations and arguments from different groups regarding the measure also known as Law 30, a package of anti-labor measures.

To date, the common factor in the stance taken by two dozen unions that presented their claims point to the elimination of the mentioned regulation.

However, National Assembly Chairman Jose Muñoz ruled out the law’s repeal, assured that only three of the law’s articles would be suspended for 90 days.
